Fear is the ground in which depression grows.
We fertilize it with
self-doubt,
perfectionism,
and unrelenting self-criticism.
It grows larger,
and we sink under the shadow it casts.
We shrink it with
daily rituals
of understanding,
self-compassion,
and physicality.
Soon the ground of fear
becomes the rich soil
of love and hope
in which we grow our dreams.
