Aidan Key is a speaker, educator, author, and organizer whose gender-related work spans over two decades.  His desire to increase the understanding and awareness of gender identity development in children, youth and adults has placed him in front of many audiences, including kindergartners, superintendents, judges, teachers, grad students, doctors, psychiatrists, and clergy. 

Key is the author of Trans Bodies, Trans Selves: A Resource by and For Transgender Communities chapter covering topics related to the support and understanding of transgender children.  He Co-Authored Gender Cognition in Children (Psychological Science, 2015), a paper exploring gender identity alignment in transgender children.

Aidan is also the founder and President of transfamilies.org  Trans Families inspires hope, increases understanding, and creates a visible pathway to support trans and gender-diverse children and all those who touch their lives.

April Kaiserlian is a psychotherapist in private practice with a focus on creative, contemplative, experiential therapy. She is a collector of the old and the new, the odd and the normal, and she loves to string ideas together in new and creative ways to inspire you on your journey to becoming more fully human.

April is also the co-founder of the Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness and has been teaching and practicing mindfulness and self-compassion for over 12 years. April teaches from a place of humor and grace. She offers her wisdom from her own real-life, field-testing of each and every practice. Always doing something creative, she has launched one newsletter aptly titled - Colorful Insights – because to know April is to know her use of color in nearly every aspect of her life. She has another newsletter on the way which will be titled, Experiments in Emotional Wisdom. She is a firm believer that any wellness practice you do has to meet you in the struggles of your everyday life and she always has a story on hand to make her point!

April completed her professional mindfulness training and supervision under the direction of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, as well as professional training with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. She is a licensed social worker and received her graduate degree from Grand Valley State University. She has also completed an 18-month certificate program in mindfulness-based psychotherapy with the Hakomi Institute. She is currently participating in monthly mentoring sessions with meditation teacher and author, Ethan Nichtern, and is always happy to be reading, learning, and growing.

Heather has over fifteen years of experience in education.

Heather is trained as a mediator with King County Dispute Resolution Center and as a co-parent coach with her mentor, Karen Bonnell.  
She loves talking to families and helping them manage the hard work of parenting and self-care.  She lives in Seattle with her spouse and teenage son.  
She has two adult stepchildren and one grandson from her current marriage.  Her passion for helping families navigate the challenging terrain of co-parenting and restructuring comes from lived experience.  
Heather co-parents with her ex-wife and works to find a healthy dynamic between the two stepfamilies that keeps the needs and best interests of her son central.

Tom is an award-winning and New York Times bestselling author who has been publishing golf stories since 2001. His first book was the novel A Gentleman’s Game, which was named one of the best 25 sports books of all time by The Philadelphia Daily News.  He wrote the film adaptation of the novel, which starred Gary Sinise, Philip Baker Hall, Dylan Baker, and Mason Gamble.  His second book, Paper Tiger: An Obsessed Golfer’s Quest to Play with the Pros was released June 2006, and was an editor’s pick in Esquire Magazine and USA Today, and a summer reading selection in The New York Times.   His third book, A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee, was published by Gotham Books in February, 2009, and it chronicles his quest to walk and golf the whole of Ireland.  The book was a New York Times, American Booksellers Association, and Barnes & Noble bestseller, and won a silver medal from the Society of American Travel Writers in the category of Best Travel Book of the Year. 

 

His anticipated follow-up to A Course Called Ireland was released by Simon & Schuster in 2018: A Course Called Scotland was an instant New York Times bestseller, and chronicles Tom’s quest to play every links course in Scotland, searching the highlands for the secret to golf and a tee time in the oldest championship in sports. Tom’s travel trilogy reaches its conclusion with the release of A Course Called America from Avid Reader/Simon & Schuster in May of 2021. The story follows Tom as he plays his way across all 50 states, searching for the great American golf course, and it landed on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists in its first week.

Tom is Senior Editor and podcast host at The Golfer’s Journal, and has written for Golf Magazine, Golfweek, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, and numerous other publications.  His Golfer’s Journal story, “The Lucky Ones” was named the best feature story of 2020 by the Golf Writers Association of America. He is also a host and writer for the travel television series, “The Links Life.”  Tom earned an M.F.A. in fiction writing from the University of Notre Dame, where he won the William Mitchell Award for distinguished achievement. 

He lives outside Philadelphia with his wife and two daughters.
