LINE IN THE SAND

What is it

that causes someone to

Shift,

to make a significant change,

to draw a line in the sand and declare,

“This is where it ends.”?

The day my MD said,

“I want to increase your

medication.”

was mine.

I could no longer live life

depressed,

medicated,

broken.

And so I decided not to.

I drew my line

and doggedly pursued

a life of change.

For some, it’s

a heart attack,

a car accident,

a baby being born,

a new job,

but your

line in the sand

day

does not require drama.

It requires a

decision.

Make yours today.

STOP/START

When you

stop making excuses,

stop believing you cannot live your dreams,

stop telling yourself the lies you call

your truth,

then you can

start

making plans,

turning dreams into direction,

telling a new story.

Today is a good day to stop/start.

PERFECTIONISTIC PROCRASTINATOR

You want it just right -

your

resume,

letter,

outfit,

project.

Your life.

And this is what stops you from

showing up,

speaking up,

doing your best work.

The desire for perfection.

Even when you know

it cannot be captured.

Even when you tell yourself,

it doesn’t exist.

Being perfectionistic is only

a great excuse for

procrastination.

GET COMFORTABLE WITH THE UNCOMFORTABLE

If you’re going to

learn,

grow,

change;

If you’re going to

lose weight,

gain muscle,

get stronger;

be faster;

If you’re going to

build

a deep friendship,

a passionate relationship,

a dynamic workplace,

you have to

go first,

take the risk,

be vulnerable.

And you have to do it,

every. single. day.

To do anything worth doing,

you must

get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

THE DAY AFTER

The day after,

you do what you didn’t want to do,

you say the wrong thing,

you miss the opportunity,

could be a day for

regret,

shame,

hiding.

If this is what you choose,

the day becomes

lost.

And it’s easier for

the day after the lost day

to become lost as well.

And soon all days are lost

in regret,

shame,

hiding.

The day after

you do what you didn’t want to do,

you say the wrong thing,

you miss the opportunity,

could also be a day for

showing up,

seeking your best work,

grace.

Your choice.

NEGATIVE NAYSAYERS

Misery loves company.

We’ve heard it said so many times,

it doesn’t register.

However,

our human tendency is to

mirror what we see.

So when you find yourself

around people who are

negative naysayers

and

positively pessimistic,

be careful.

And when you find yourself

seeking out the company of those

who love misery,

be wary.

For the more we mirror misery,

the more the misery mire spreads.
