ALL ABOUT JOEL

Born in the Midwest, I grew up feeding calves, milking cows and working the land.  After graduating high school, I made a number of decisions that sent my life into a tailspin.  Since then, I have been rebuilding my life, my passions and my self.  I have coached people of all ages and backgrounds, as well as helping to forge leadership culture in nonprofit and for-profit enterprises.

I’m a Performance Coach, Inspirational Speaker, Author, and Pastor based in Richmond, VA.  I am certified as a Strategic Interventionist Coach and Marriage Educator by Robbins-Madanes Training. I am Member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and hold their Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation. I am also a Courage & Renewal Facilitator prepared to use the Circles of Trust® approach (as described in Parker J. Palmer's book, A Hidden Wholeness) to enable people to reconnect who they are with what they do. (www.couragerenewal.org) 

I hold a Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary and lead Westminster Presbyterian Church, Richmond, VA as its Pastor/Head of Staff.  (www.wpcrichmond.org)  

I like to say that my superpower is perspective. All of my experience, training and passion are now being poured out to serve others so that they can design and live a life of passion, and purpose.    

I have been married for over 25 years to the most beautiful person I have ever known.
