FALL AWAY

When the trees drop their leaves,

a strong desire arises

to shed everything which now seems

extraneous,

superfluous,

unneeded,

unnecessary,

unhelpful.

And I begin to wonder

how there came to be

so many things in my life

which need to fall away.
