WHAT YOU AREN’T

We find it easy to describe things

as what they are not.

Not fun.

Not helpful.

Not productive.

We seem to have a more difficult time

describing things in the positive

and

an even more difficult time believing

them about ourselves.

This is why we rebel against affirmations,

feeling like we are channeling Stuart Smalley,

“And darn it, people like me.”

So why not start with describing what

you aren’t

and

what you don’t

do

in order to get to what you want.

I don’t neglect my body;

I don’t hold grudges;

can lead to

I care for my body;

I forgive and ask for forgiveness.

Today, figure out what you aren’t.
