UPON WAKING

Upon waking,

Count to 5 and put your feet on the floor.

Give thanks for your feet.

Take 5 deep breaths.

Give thanks for your lungs and diaphragm.

Do you feel your heart beating?

Give thanks for your heart delivering blood and oxygen.

 

Count to 5 and stand up.

Give thanks for your legs.

Count to 5 and take a few steps.

Give thanks for your muscles moving you.

Raise your hands above your head.

Give thanks for life and the day ahead.
