We often have expectations
for
kids,
youth,
young adults
we wouldn’t follow ourselves.
Yes--
parents must parent;
adults must guide and discipline;
and when we act as if we are just waiting for
kids to screw up,
to disappoint,
they will.
Expect others to do well.
Don’t expect them to be better than you.
Sometimes,
the problem with kids,
is us.
