“suffering alongside of”
We are often good at giving others a little “slack”--
offering Outward Compassion.
We are practiced in not giving ourselves the same.
We block Inward Compassion,
fearing it leads into the mire of self-pity.
The problem: You cannot give what you do not have.
So if you don’t have Inward Compassion,
what is it you are giving to others?
