COMPANIONS OF COMPARISON

Jealousy and envy

are the companions of comparison.

When we compare

our situation to others,

these two show up,

bringing with them

discouragement and depression.

They are close at hand

when we

watch the

squeaky clean,

sanitized lives of friends

on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat.

If you want to compare yourself,

compare yourself to the person

you are becoming.

Compare yourself to the person

you will be 3, 5, 10 years from now.

Ask that person,

“How did you become wise, loving, and joyful?”

Listen carefully for the answers.

Do those things.

Forget the companions of comparison.
